Pippi

One of Mitzev´s works shows a figure resembling Pippi Longstocking, another a house moving slowly to and fro on a green meadow. The perception of absolute tranquility, far away from the rush of everyday life. In the dancing children´s idol you still sense a positive desire for boundless joy and freedom, but the house already confronts us with a feeling of uncertainty. Will the house of bronze not break under the pressure of its continuous rocking, will the meadow not become a grave?
From this point of view the idyll proves to be an illusion.
The works show the two sides of a medal. Thematically, the medal represents the universe of emigrants: A child´s dream to conquer the world becomes a "survival for life", where sometimes all safety is missing and life is just one challenge. Existence becomes an incessant movement.
